Governors

School Governors are the strategic leaders of our school and have a vital role to play in making sure every child gets the best possible education. As part of an academy trust, our trustees and members also have an important part to play in the strategic direction of our school. Governors have a strong focus on three core strategic functions:

a) Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;

b) Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils and

c) Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

In consultation with LGB, members decided not to hold any face to face or virtual meetings during the 19/20 summer term due to COVID 19.
The Principal continued to report on school matters via email. Any policy or matters needing to be ratified were taken to Trust e.g. School Risk Assessment.

The governors at St James recognise the importance of diversity. We are in the process of gathering information to publish the diversity data of the governing board. The governors will ensure that individuals cannot be identified through the publication of data.
